Yesterday, Kos announced the formation of BlogPAC. I wasn't sure what to think about this at first, but just looking at the site and it's purpose I was quickly convinced.

I have been talking about the need for alternative media to be better coordinated for sometime, and it seems like some one beat me to the punch. If this works it will disperse messages and facts more quickly and it could snap the progressive agenda back to the left.

BlogPAC's advisory committee is made up of Markos Moulitsas of Daily Kos, Jerome Armstrong of MyDD, Duncan Black of Atrios, Jeralyn Merritt of Talk Left, John Aravosis of AmericaBlog, Matt Stoller of BOP News, Anna of Annatopia, Jesse Taylor of Pandagon, Chris Bowers of MyDD, Steve Gilliard's News Blog & others. So it has legitimacy to coordinate these efforts as well as a solid and respectable voice in the journalism community.

This is an intriguing concept, but reading over much of the material they have, I'm left unclear about what exactly the details of this are. What happens if we sign up? Is this just a big progressive blogger e-mail distribution list? Or is it more?

I haven't been familiar with this effort until now, but am interested to learn more.
